Reasons Why Xylitol is Good For You

In a previous post we talked about sweets that are harmful to the teeth, but there are some sweets that can be GOOD for the teeth. Take for example Xylitol, it's a healthy sugar substitute...for people, NOT pets, it can be poisonous to pets...search for a link to more on that at my pet health website

  • Xylitol actually has properties that keep bacteria from adhering to the teeth.
  • Xylitol supplies 40% fewer calories and 75% fewer carbohydrates than sugar.
  • Xylitol is said to be safe for diabetics, hypoglycemia, children and pregnant women.
  • Xylitol can replace sugar in many recipes, and can tolerate the heat of baking.
  • Xylitol is available in a granular form like sugar, and in many sugar-free candies and foods that I can introduce you to if you are interested.
You can also get a Xylitol mouthwash.

So don't think that you have to give up sweets it satisfy the sweet tooth, and don't forget about the herbal sweetener, Stevia...I posted a while back on that at my HerBulletin blog.
